“I can’t travel anywhere that doesn’t have a gym” “I can’t be away from a gym for more than a few days.”…
This was my mindset for many years. And it held me back.
I’ve always had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and application in fitness and nutrition, but there was a time when it was a blessing and a curse….
..I also loved and dreamt of travelling (nomad backpacking), experiencing other cultures and throwing myself into the mercy of Mother Nature, trekking in the likes of The Himalayas and Patagonia.
But having a strong psychological reliance on gyms, believing fitness results only existed in them, kept stopping me. I believed I had to have a gym in my life at all times and be close to one at all times.
If this wasn’t the case, I felt I couldn’t be me.
Finally, one day back in 2015 after the London rat race, gym ‘bro lifting’ atmosphere and all-around frustrations had taken their tolls.
I upped and just went for it with a backpack, TRX and a resounding strong will to maintain, if not to improve, my overall fitness.
My safety net of a gym wasn’t around anymore. I had to learn how to achieve fitness using other, more accessible tools.
I had to let go of this belief that I needed weights, bars and machines to achieve a feel-good physique and healthy fitness level. My thirst for knowledge and application grew X10 fold due to this.
Which, is when I learnt and understood one of the most valuable lessons:
“A muscle doesn’t know what you are holding. All it knows is the tension and violent contractional force (squeeze!) you can place upon it through a range of motion. Regardless of the tool used to do so.”
This opened doors to fitness freedom but also an appreciation of my body and mind and the incredible connection and results that can be achieved through exercising in ones own space with an internal perspective on feeling, and a focus on technique mastery with a TRX.
And that’s how my passion was born, to help others achieve their fitness goals using a TRX absolutely anywhere.
Since then I have built more muscle and sculpted my physique better through TRX muscle-centric training than I ever did in a gym with weights. When my focus was external.
Does TRX Workout build muscle?
With the right mindset, internal mind-muscle connection and technique… YES! It absolutely 100% does and the limitations of what you think is possible are simply in your mind. Literally, in your mind.
This is exactly what my TRX Workout Programs teach
A perspective: a constant gut feeling to do something could mean it’s a truest life value. Do it and find out.
